خلاصه داستان (فارسی)

دکتر مالکوم سایر، یک پزشک محقق خجالتی، از یک داروی آزمایشی برای "بیدار کردن" قربانیان کاتاتونیک یک بیماری نادر استفاده می‌کند. لئونارد اولین بیماری است که این درمان بحث‌برانگیز را دریافت می‌کند. بیداری او، که سرشار از شگفتی و اشتیاق است، برای سایر نیز تولدی دوباره محسوب می‌شود، زیرا این بیمار پرشور، لذت‌های ساده اما به طرز غیرقابل وصفی شیرین زندگی را برای پزشک درونگرا آشکار می‌کند.

Synopsis (English)

Dr. Malcolm Sayer, a shy research physician, uses an experimental drug to "awaken" the catatonic victims of a rare disease. Leonard is the first patient to receive the controversial treatment. His awakening, filled with awe and enthusiasm, proves a rebirth for Sayer too, as the exuberant patient reveals life's simple but unutterably sweet pleasures to the introverted doctor.
