نوجوانان در یک شهر کوچک مثل مگس می‌افتند، ظاهراً در چنگال هیستری جمعی که باعث خودکشی آنها می‌شود. دختر یک پلیس، نانسی تامپسون، علت را در فرد کروگر، کودک‌آزار، که سال‌ها پیش توسط والدین خشمگین زنده زنده سوزانده شده بود، ردیابی می‌کند. کروگر اکنون به رویاهای فرزندان قاتلانش بازگشته است و جان آنها را به عنوان انتقام خود می‌گیرد. نانسی و دوست پسرش، گلن، باید نقشه‌ای برای بیرون کشیدن هیولا از قلمرو کابوس‌ها و ورود به دنیای واقعی بکشند...

Synopsis (English)

Teenagers in a small town are dropping like flies, apparently in the grip of mass hysteria causing their suicides. A cop's daughter, Nancy Thompson, traces the cause to child molester Fred Krueger, who was burned alive by angry parents many years before. Krueger has now come back in the dreams of his killers' children, claiming their lives as his revenge. Nancy and her boyfriend, Glen, must devise a plan to lure the monster out of the realm of nightmares and into the real world...
