خلاصه داستان (فارسی)

داستان فیلم حول محور رابطه‌ی بعید بین «آن اتواتر»، یک فعال حقوق مدنی صریح، و «سی پی الیس»، یک رهبر محلی کو کلاکس کلان، می‌چرخد که با اکراه ریاست مشترک یک اجلاس محلی را بر عهده داشت و در طول تابستان نژادپرستانه‌ی سال ۱۹۷۱، بر سر لغو جداسازی نژادی در مدارس دورهام، کارولینای شمالی، با یکدیگر مبارزه می‌کردند. وقایع باورنکردنی که رخ داد، دورهام و زندگی اتواتر و الیس را برای همیشه تغییر داد.

Synopsis (English)

Centers on the unlikely relationship between Ann Atwater, an outspoken civil rights activist, and C.P. Ellis, a local Ku Klux Klan leader who reluctantly co-chaired a community summit, battling over the desegregation of schools in Durham, North Carolina during the racially-charged summer of 1971. The incredible events that unfolded would change Durham and the lives of Atwater and Ellis forever.
